Those Damn Crows forced to pull out of festivals
Frontman Shane Greenhall suffers incapacitating back injury
Last updated 20th Apr 2022
Rapidly ascending UK hard rockers Those Damn Crows have had to cancel their headline show at the Primordial General Mayhem festival in Lincoln on Friday April 22nd, and their appearance at Blandford, Dorset’s Teddy Rocks on Saturday April 30th, after singer Shane Greenhall was laid low by a back injury.
Details of Greenhall’s accident have not been revealed, but doctors have urged him to rest. The band have issued the following statement: “Unfortunately, Shane has suffered a back injury that has left him incapacitated and hardly able to walk right now, let alone perform. He’s been advised that the only solution is a period of rest, so we will be following medical advice on this until Shane is back on his feet. We can only offer our sincere apologies, and send our very best wishes to these two incredible festivals, who have been extremely understanding of our situation. Please support them in any way you can. We’ll see you soon.”
The band also confirmed they’ll be taking a few weeks off from their regular Crowcast series of online chats, while Greenhall recovers.
The Bridgend-based band headlined last year's Planet Rockstock in Trecco Bay after Canadian outfit Monster Truck were forced to pull out due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Those Damn Crows’ second and most recent album, ‘Point Of No Return’, entered the UK chart at No.14 in February 2020. The band are still expected to perform at all of their other, previously announced dates, which include an appearance at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on May 26th supporting Thunder, and a prestigious main stage slot at Download Festival on Saturday June 11th.
Everyone at Planet Rock wishes Shane a speedy recovery.
