Due to the cancellation of Code Orange’s summer European trek, The Wildhearts will step into their Ronnie James Dio main stage slot on Saturday 10th August.

Enthusing about their appearance, frontman Ginger Wildheart said: “I am over the f***ing moon to be playing Bloodstock festival.  I’ve been waiting for this for years. I always said that the first time I attend Bloodstock, I want to be on the bill.  What a way to lose your cherry!”

The Wildhearts join a weekend Bloodstock line-up that features Dee Snider, Queensrÿche and Sunday headliners Scorpions in what is their only UK show of 2019.

As reported earlier this month, former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing will also be playing his first live show in a decade at Bloodstock when he performs with former Manowar rocker Ross The Boss.

K.K. said: "I'm really delighted and really looking forward to sharing the stage with Ross The Boss and saying hello to all our fans together.

“For me, as you know, it's been far too long, so I sincerely hope to see as many familiar faces as possible at this truly unique event. True metal for true metal fans at the U.K.'s truest metal festival. United we stand!"

Bloodstock Open Air takes place at Catton Park in Derbyshire from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th August 2019. Weekend and day tickets are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
