The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood undergoes surgery for a lung lesion
Ronnie Wood has undergone keyhole surgery to have a lesion removed from his lung.
The Rolling Stones guitarist, who turns 70 a week today (1st June), has released a short statement saying he is “feeling fine” after the successful procedure.
The lesion was discovered after a routine medical check-up and Ronnie thanked doctors for discovering it early on.
“I’m so grateful for modern screening which picked this up so early, and would like to thank all the doctors who treated me," Ronnie said.
The Rolling Stones’ upcoming No Filter tour dates in Europe, which kick off at Hamburg Stadtpark on 9th September won’t be affected.
Earlier this month, The Stones released a short statement explaining why they didn’t include any UK dates in the No Filter tour.
They said: “Sorry to our UK fans there are no UK dates on this run due to lack of available venues because of sporting fixtures. Hope to be here in 2018.”
