The Rolling Stones order Donald Trump to stop playing their songs

The Rolling Stones have released a statement demanding that Donald Trump stops using their music at campaign events.

The presumptive nominee of the Republican Party has played anthems ‘Start Me Up’ and 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' at his 2016 election rallies for several months and The Stones aren’t happy about it.

In a brief statement issued via their representatives, the British rock legends said: "The Rolling Stones have never given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately."

Of course, The Rolling Stones aren’t the first act to slam the ever-controversial Republican for using their music.

Last October, Steven Tyler sent a cease-and-desist letter to Trump’s campaign team after Aerosmith’s ‘Dream On’ was played at a rally.

“Trump for President does not have our client's permission to use 'Dream On' or any of our client’s other music in connection with the Campaign because it gives the false impression that he is connected with or endorses Mr. Trump's presidential bid," the legal letter read.

In typical style, Trump agreed to stop playing the track but couldn’t resist a dig at Tyler on Twitter saying he “had a better (song) in place.”

The 69-year-old added: "Steven Tyler got more publicity on his song request than he’s gotten in ten years. Good for him!"

Similarly, Neil Young was enraged when 'Rockin' In The Free World' was used at a Denver rally in June 2015.

"Donald Trump was not authorized to use 'Rockin' in the Free World' in his presidential candidacy announcement," a spokesperson for the music icon said. "Neil Young, a Canadian citizen, is a supporter of Bernie Sanders for President of the United States of America."

Although Donald Trump maintained he had legal rights to play the song, he agreed to stop playing it.

The official response read: "Mr. Trump is a huge fan of Neil Young and his music and will continue to be regardless of Neil's political views."
