For one night only on Friday 7th September 2018, East London venue, Troxy, will be transformed into the streets of Havana, reviving the atmosphere of The Rolling Stones’ free concert in the Cuban capital in March 2016 that took place in front of 500,000 fans.

In collaboration with The Rolling Stones and Eagle Rock Entertainment, immersive specialists Revive at Studio 5 will utilise the latest cinematic technology, lighting equipment and concert production sound to help relive the concert.

Augmenting the screening of the Paul Dugdale directed concert film The Rolling Stones: Havana Moon, there will be a large-scale set design, immersive method actors, dancers, Cuban-themed food, cocktails and more.

Mick Jagger comments: “Out of the 9 countries we did on this tour, putting on a gig of this size was hardest to do in Cuba. Nothing like this had been done before. Rock and Roll was banned. The thing is when you ban something you create a movement.

“Over half a million fans showed up for this gig. Standing in front of them was an emotional moment. They were seeing something they’d never seen before and hearing something they’d never heard before. I can see why this makes a great gig to ‘relive’ in the way it will be at Troxy. The atmosphere was electric. Cuba was beautiful.”

He added: “We see the world from a Rolling Stone point of view and know that we’re privileged to have witnessed moments like Havana Moon. This gig signalled change and progress in Cuba, which has continued since we played in 2016.”

“As a band we’re all for moving forward with new technology, particularly in our shows. We see that this immersive experience of reliving ‘Havana Moon’ will let thousands more fans be part of a historic moment. Hope the fans enjoy it as much as we did being onstage in Havana.”

Tom Clark, Director at Revive at Studio 5, said: “We love live music and know that the collective experience of those who attend these seminal gigs form memories for life.

“We want to give more people the chance to live these incredible music events with hundreds of other fans, in an immersive fun and creative environment. From the moment people arrive, they will be transported from the streets of London to the streets of Cuba. It’s going to be an experience not to be missed!”

His fellow director Andy Cuthbert adds: “Technology is enabling people to truly immerse themselves in experiences, and this event will feel like watching The Rolling Stones perform to over 500,000 concert-goers in Havana. Having teamed up with the best industry professionals to make it possible, ticket buyers can rest assured that there will be full concert sound, second-to-none lighting and an atmosphere you’ll be left talking about for weeks.”

Tickets are on sale from the Troxy’s website now. Doors open at 7pm and the screening takes place from 8.30pm to 10.30pm.
