The Rolling Stones' Exhibitionism is heading to America
The Rolling Stones’ career-spanning retrospective Exhibitionism is set to open in New York this autumn.
Currently wowing visitors at London’s Saatchi Gallery, the critically acclaimed exhibition continues in the capital throughout the summer and wraps up on 4th September.
Two months later in November it will hope over the pond and move to the Industria Superstudio in the Big Apple.
Officially backed by the band, the exhibition is the biggest of its kind ever to be staged and boasts over 500 Rolling Stones original and unseen artefacts from the band’s personal archives.
Keith Richards says: “While this is about the Rolling Stones, it’s not necessarily only just about the members of the band.
“It’s also about all the paraphernalia and technology associated with a group like us, and it’s this, as well as the instruments that have passed through our hands over the years, that should make the exhibition really interesting.”
A true multimedia and audio-visual experience, it encompasses art & design, film, video, fashion, performance, and rare sound archives.
Visitors are able to see some of the Stones' rare instruments and iconic costumes and there are personal diaries as well as poster and album cover artwork.
At the heart of the exhibition is, of course, the Stones' musical heritage that took the group from being a hard working London blues band in the early 1960s to becoming inspirational cultural icons adored by millions.
Tickets to the London exhibition are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
