UPDATE 04-11-20: Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, The Quireboys have rescheduled this tour. Full details here.
The Quireboys will hit the road from December 2020 to February 2021 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut studio album ‘A Bit of What You Fancy’.
'A Bit of What You Fancy’ was a huge commercial success upon its release in January 1990 and spawned four Top 40 singles in the UK; ‘7 O’Clock’, ‘Hey You’, ‘I Don’t Love You Anymore’ and ‘There She Goes Again’.
Exactly a month today on Friday 1st July 2020, Spike and co. will release a re-recorded version of the album on limited-edition CD and vinyl, with the CD augmented by bonus live tracks. You can pre-order the album here.
Now, The Quireboys have confirmed they will hit the road throughout the winter where they will be performing ‘A Bit of What You Fancy’ in its glorious entirety.
The tour will open at Oxford Bullingdon on Thursday 10th December and calls in at Bristol, Southend and Nottingham in the run-up to Christmas.
In January 2021, The Quireboys play Brighton, Birmingham and Stoke before the tour concludes with dates in Leeds, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Gloucester, Manchester and Gateshead in February.
Support at all dates comes from Australian rock juggernauts Massive.
The Quireboys pre-sale:
Planet Rock has secured a 48-hour pre-sale to the tour that kicks off RIGHT HERE at 10am on Wednesday 3rd June. General sale follows on Friday.
Quireboys singer Spike says of the updated 2020 version of ‘A Bit of What You Fancy’: “(The album) is where it all began for The Quireboys. It was an incredible album that launched our career. However, the way we sound and play now doesn’t do it justice.
“Henceforth, it has been a pleasure updating it to our modern-day Gypsy Rock & Roll Sound. I’m sure everyone will enjoy this new version in all its glory, marking its 30th Anniversary.”
