The Dead Daisies announce 'Locked and Loaded' covers album
The Dead Daisies will release their covers album ‘Locked and Loaded’ on Friday 23rd August 2019 via Spitfire Music.
Featuring seven studio covers and three live tracks, ‘Locked and Loaded’ is available to buy on multiple formats including DigiPak CD, Coloured Vinyl with CD in paper sleeve, and digital download.
All tracks that appear on the album have been remastered for this project, with live versions of Neil Young’s ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’ and Deep Purple’s ‘Highway Star’ being released for the first time ever.
Other covers that feature include The Sensational Alex Harvey Band's 'Midnight Moses' and Howlin' Wolf's 'Evil', which both previously appeared on The Dead Daisies’ 2015 album ‘Revolución’.
Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Fortunate Son’ and The Who’s ‘Join Together’ have been lifted from 2016’s ‘Make Some Noise’, while The Rolling Stones’ ‘Bitch’ and The Beatles’ ‘Revolution’ are taken from 2018’s ‘Burn It Down’.
A rocking version of The Beatles’ ‘Helter Skelter’ and a live cover of Grand Funk Railroad’s ‘American Band’ from 2017’s ‘Live & Louder’ complete the album.
"This is a ‘tip of the hat’ to our heroes, bands that influenced us when we use to buy their records as teenagers,” says Dead Daisies singer John Corabi.
“Now we’ve put them all on one album and it seriously rocks!! You may think of us as ‘Rock Stars’ but at the end of the day we’re just huge music fans!"
Guitarist Doug Aldrich adds: “Playing these songs live is a total adrenaline rush for all of us. Our audiences go nuts with our Daisified versions of these songs that come from an incredible time in music. It’s our way of paying homage to the ‘greats’ of rock."
