Joining Saturday night bill toppers Foreigner, The Darkness will bring their ever-flamboyant live show to the sacrosanct turf of Mote Park next July.

Regaling a powerful and poignant story, inimitable frontman Justin Hawkins says: "I do love to ramble. Years ago, my grandfather bought me a set of hiking boots for Christmas, in a direct refusal to spend money on the plastic Evel Knievel toy I had begged him for in the weeks leading up to it.

“Grandad was quite progressive in that respect, very much a recycler. It must run in the family, my Uncle Len gave me the same 3 pack of sports socks that I had given him the previous year. So off I went, box-fresh hikers and regifted sports socks up the nearest hill. It took a long time to get there on account of my having grown up in the flat lands of East Anglia.

“Two of my other great uncles, Fred and Cyril, lived in Maidstone so I walked there. That makes Rambling Man somewhat of a homecoming, and we, The Darkness, cannot wait to headline this magnificent festival."

Also joining the Main Stage line-up are the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, featuring, of course, the titular ex-Black Crowes singer.

The Darkness and Chris Robinson Brotherhood join an already stellar line-up boasting the aforementioned Foreigner, Blues Stage headliner Beth Hart, Prog in the Park headliners Anathema and fellow prog rockers Riverside and Pain of Salvation.

Having taken place over two days in late June/early July this year, the fifth Ramblin’ Man Fair moves back its traditional end of July slot on Friday 19th to Sunday 21st July 2019.

Once again Ramblin’ Man Fair is located at the stunning surroundings of Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent and tickets to the event are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets.

Already a rock institution, since its inception in 2015 Ramblin’ Man Fair has boasted performances from Whitesnake, Black Stone Cherry, ZZ Top, The Cult, the late-great Gregg Allman, Scorpions, Extreme, Mott The Hoople, Marillion, Halestorm, Myles Kennedy, Dream Theater, Saxon, Thin Lizzy, Thunder, UFO, Airbourne, Steel Panther, Europe, Uriah Heep, Procol Harum, Black Star Riders, Rival Sons, Joanne Shaw Taylor, The Cadillac Three and many more.
