Despite previously stating that they would not release a new album, it seems that a full new studio record from The Cult is well under way and will be here in a few months.

Bassist Chris Wyse revealed to ViperRoom.com that "The new The Cult deal is with the Cooking Vinyl label. We're in good company with The Prodigy and Marilyn Manson. The record is nearly done; Ian Astbury is probably doing vocals right now. It is due out April 2012!! This record is kind of a Zep/Stooges mix of energy, and I believe showcases a new level of depth for The Cult."

The album follow two "Capsule" releases which featured a handful of new songs a piece, plus video footage. It will be their first new album since 2007's Born Into This.
