The Australian Pink Floyd to play The Dark Side of the Moon in full on new tour
Critically lauded tribute act The Australian Pink Floyd are coming to the UK in autumn 2017 with a spectacular new show.
The Best of the Moon UK Tour takes in 23 shows across the length and breadth of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales in September and October 2017.
It will see them perform ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ in its entirety alongside tracks from Pink Floyd’s sprawling back catalogue.
The band said in a statement: “In 2017 we will play the classics Dark Side of the Moon album in its entirety as well as some of the most popular songs from the Syd Barrett years, Meddle, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, The Final Cut, Momentary Lapse of Reason and the Division Bell.
“Building on our continuing success in Europe and the United States in 2016 we will bring a fabulous laser and light show, special filmed footage and original animation onto a large high resolution LED screen, inflatables such as Skippy (our Pink Kangaroo), The Teacher and Pig and a 10 piece band playing the songs with all the note for note attention to detail and sound that has been honed of almost 30 years of performances.”
Since their inception in 1988, The Australian Pink Floyd have performed with the late-great Rick Wright, played at David Gilmour’s 50th birthday celebrations and worked with an array of ex-Pink Floyd touring members and sound engineers.
Tickets go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Friday 1st December.
