Tesla Alive On New Record
New live album on the way from US rockers
Tesla are to release a brand new live album, Alive In Europe, on 23 April.
Released via Frontiers Records Alive In Europe is the band’s first live album since 2002's Standing Room Only, and it will be followed soon after by a separate version made for the US.
"I could have just done one big live record, but I wanted the European fans to have their own piece of Tesla," bassist Brian Wheat told The Breakdown Room. "We completely ignored them from 1991 to 2006, although we go there a lot now. I just wanted to say, 'Hey, look, this one is for you.'"
The European live album contains many of the band’s biggest songs, but the US version will feature less well known material.
"There will be some overlap, but not much," Wheat said. "Americans got the DVD, 'Comin' Atacha Live 2008', and that had a lot of hits. So the American live album will have stuff we haven't played in a long time or played ever."
