Rock music has had a symbiotic relationship with the food and beverage industry for some time now with Judas Priest and Aerosmith’s Joe Kramer selling their own brands of coffee, and Iron Maiden, Metallica, The Rolling Stones and, yours truly, Planet Rock, among the many who have unleashed alcoholic drinks.

Now, German supermarket Aldi have announced that their Happy Farms brand will be selling six products named after well-known rock and pop anthems.

Among those launched are the Guns N’ Roses cheese ‘Sweet Cheddar Of Mine’ and the Def Leppard-themed ‘Pour Some Gouda On Me’.

From outside the rock world, there’s also ‘Wake Me Up Before You Goat Goat’ (Wham!), ‘Billie Goat Is Not My Lover’ (Michael Jackson), ‘Total Eclipse of the Havarti’ (Bonnie Tyler) and ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fontina’ (Cyndi Lauper).

Launched ahead of the Grammy Awards at the end of February, the music themed cheeses are available to buy from Aldi’s stores in North America from today for a limited period only.

Unfortunately there is no word on whether there will be a UK release.
