Joining the previously confirmed Friday headliners Those Damn Crows and Saturday bill-toppers Terrorvision, Sweet will bring Winter’s End to an emphatic close on the Sunday night.
You can expect to hear timeless classics like ‘Block Buster!’, ‘Ballroom Blitz’, ‘Fox on the Run’ and ‘Hellraiser’ alongside other cuts from their eclectic back catalogue when they take to the stage at Winter’s End. Here's a recent performance at Wacken Open Air:
The current incarnation of Sweet features long-term member Andy Scott (lead guitar vocals) alongside Bruce Bisland (drums, vocals), Tony O’Hora (lead vocals, bass) and recent recruit, former Cats In Space frontman Paul Manzi (guitar, keyboards, vocals).
Also added to the Sunday line-up today are high-octane hard rockers Gin Annie. The Wolverhampton band have already had two tracks played on Wyatt’s New Rock Show, and earlier this month they unleashed the latest offshoot from their debut album ‘100% Proof’ - the Romesh Dodangoda produced ‘Already Gone’.
Planet Rock listeners will be no strangers to Rebecca Downes, whose sublime current single 'Hurts' - lifted from her equally excellent current album ‘More Sinner than Saint’ - has recently been on heavy rotation on our airwaves. Rebecca is a potent live force and her Sunday slot at Winter’s End should be very special indeed.
Completing the Sunday line-up are Leeds rock n’ roll juggernauts Blind Haze. Pulsating tracks like ‘Snow Queen’ and ‘Burnin' Up’ are great enough on record, but, as anyone who bore witness to their electric Planet Rockstock 2018 performance will attest, they’re even better in the live arena.
Despite having one of the least Googleable names around, Manchester residing trio Naked Six’s beguiling grungey, punky sounds are well worth checking out! They will rock Winter’s End on the Saturday.
Also rocking Winter’s End on Saturday are Sweet Crisis. The Cambridge sextet are picking up widespread plaudits thanks to their soulful, blues-tinged contemporary rock sounds including the riff-heavy recent single ‘Black Magic’. Describing themselves as “energetic and explosive” live, their performance is not to be missed.
The final act to be confirmed for the Saturday are London quartet Glitter Machine who describe their musical as “loud with raw vocals, searing guitars, a driving bass, and thumping drums.” A winning combination, we’re sure you agree!
A band that needs very little introduction, Tequila Mockingbyrd will rock the Friday at Winter’s End to the core. Since earlier this year, the line-up has consisted of bassist Jacinta Jaye and drummer Josie O’ Toole alongside Amorettes vocalist/guitarist Gill Montgomery and Laurie Buchanan of Aaron Buchanan and the Cult Classics fame on guitar, and they truly sound better than ever.
Bestowed with the honour of opening the Friday at Winter’s End – and the festival as a whole – are Revival Black. The Liverpool hard rockers are poised to release their debut album ‘Step In Line’ in October and they will showcase their raw and dynamic sounds at Winter’s End.
The final nine acts confirmed today join a Winter’s End line-up that boasts the aforementioned headliners Those Damn Crows and Terrorvision plus Diamond Head, The Treatment, Mason Hill, Cormac Neeson, Gorilla Riot, Bootyard Bandits, Piston, Buck & Evans, Danny Bryant, Trucker Diablo, EMPYRE, Keylock, Tomorrow Is Lost and Matt Pearce & the Mutiny.
