Stones Reunite On Record?
Rumours suggest that the band have reunited with Bill Wyman in tribute to Ian Stewart
Reports suggest that the Rolling Stones have reunited on a brand new tribute album to their former pianist Ian Stewart.
According to reports the band have recorded a cover of Bob Dylan's 'Watch The River Flow' with their former bassist Bill Wyman on bass. The album, which is called Boogie For Stu, has been put together by pianist Ben Waters who had previously revealed that Keith Richards plays on three tracks – one of them presumably the Stones track.
In a Nov. 8 message on his site - reposted on It's Only Rock 'N Roll's message board - Waters added he had just returned from New York where he was recording the album with Keith Richards, who played on three tracks and added vocals on another while Mick Jagger "played harmonica and sung fantastically on one track."
Ian Stewart died of a heart attack aged 47 in 1985. He had played with the Stones since 1962 and was often referred to as the "sixth Stone".
Boogie For Stu is released on 9 March and has been produced by Glyn Johns. All proceeds will go to the British Heart Foundation.
