Stones Bag Number 1

It\'s their first chart topping album in 16 years

The Rolling Stones have landed at number 1 in the UK album charts with Exile On Main Street – 16 years after the band’s last chart topper and 38 years after the album first went to number one.

The superb remaster of Exile beat off competition from dance act Faithless to be named number 1 in the album charts, marking the end of a long gap between chart topping records for the Stones.

The band also premiered new documentary, Stones In Exile, on BBC1 last night.

The film chronicles the making of Exile at the infamous Villa Nellcôte in the south of France. If you missed it, fear not, it is released on DVD on 14 June.

And if you’re wondering what is so special about Exile then be sure to get yourself involved in our competition to win a copy (we’re giving away copies every day until Sunday)
