Published 6th Dec 2011

Let It Bleed is 42 years old and the cover features a cake made by the then unknown chef Delia Smith, and it was designed by artist Robert Brownjohn.

Now a set of original sketches and original photos from the cover shoot are to go on sale at an auction in London on 15 December, with the collection expected to be sold for around £40,000.

The lot contains two felt pen concept sketches by Brownjohn on envelopes, together with two colour positives and two colour negatives of the final front and back covers, plus a US pressing of the album, a photo of Keith and Mick checking the cover proofs, five British postage stamps featuring the cover and a copy of 'Keith Richards: Satisfaction', by Christopher Sandford.
