Stevie Nicks performed ‘Landslide’ in tribute to her late-great Fleetwood Mac band mate Christine McVie at the launch of her Two Icons, One Night co-headlining tour with Billy Joel over the weekend.
The concert at So-Fi Stadium in Inglewood on Friday night (10th March), was Stevie Nicks’ first show since the death of Christine McVie in November 2022 aged 79.
As Nicks’ rapturously received 16-song set reached its finale, a series of poignant images of Nicks and Christine McVie appeared on the screens at the venue.
Nicks then proceeded to belt out a rousing rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 anthem ‘Landslide.’
Visibly emotional, with tears in her eyes, Nicks paid a heartfelt tribute to McVie at the end of the song, saying: “There’s really not much to say. We just pretend that she’s still here, that’s how I’m trying to deal with it.”

Earlier in the night, Stevie Nicks covered ‘Free Fallin’ in tribute to her late friend Tom Petty, and she was joined on stage by Billy Joel for a rendition of ‘Stop Draggin' My Heart Around.’
Nicks later duetted with Billy Joel during his co-headline set on a version of his 1990 track ‘And So It Goes.’
Speaking on the red carpet of The Grammy Awards last month, Fleetwood Mac drummer and co-founder Mick Fleetwood said he believes the band are “done” following McVie’s death.
“I think right now, I truly think the line in the sand has been drawn with the loss of Chris (McVie),” Fleetwood explained. “I’d say we’re done, but then we’ve all said that before. It’s sort of unthinkable right now.”
Fleetwood added that the band members are all focusing on other musical projects right now, saying: “They all get out and play, so I’m gonna be doing the same thing, finding people to play with.”
Christine McVie’s last show was at the Peter Green Tribute Concert at the London Palladium in February 2020.
