Stevie Nicks says there's 'no chance' of Fleetwood Mac getting back together

Rock legend Stevie Nicks says there is “no chance” of Fleetwood Mac getting back together in the wake of Christine McVie’s death in November 2022.
In a wide-ranging new interview with MOJO Magazine, Stevie Nicks was asked about the possibility of Fleetwood Mac working together again.
“Without Christine, no can do,” Nicks said. “There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn’t work.”
Referring to Lindsey Buckingham’s open heart surgery in 2019, Nicks continued: “Even if I thought I could work with Lindsey again, he’s had some health problems.
“It’s not for me to say, but I’m not sure if Lindsey could do the kind of touring that Fleetwood Mac does, where you go out for a year and half. It’s so demanding.”
Elsewhere during the interview, Nicks expressed her regret that she didn’t get to say goodbye to Christine McVie prior to her passing.
“It was all stunningly strange, because there wasn’t any lead up to,” a teary Nicks told MOJO. “We got a call, and I was going to rent a plane and go see her, but her family said, ‘Don’t come, because she may not be here tomorrow.’ And the next day, she passed away.”
“I wanted to go there and sit on her bed and sing to her – which definitely would have made her pass away faster,” she joked through tears. “But I needed to be with her. And I didn’t get to do that. So that was very hard for me. I didn’t get to say goodbye.”
Stevie Nicks headlines BST Hyde Park on Friday 12th July, and she also plays arena concerts at Glasgow OVO Hydro on Saturday 6th July and Manchester Co-op Live on Tuesday 9th July.
