Blabbermouth reports that in an interview with Oprah Winfrey which is due to be broadcast on new year's day, Tyler gave an honest assessment of his reputation.

When asked bluntly if he believed he could remain monogamous with his girlfriend of seven years, Erin Brady (who was previously an accountant for Tyler on tour), the singer said, "There was some behavior I am ashamed of and I shouldn't have done.

"I don't want to hurt anybody again. For all the divorces I've had I've hurt those girls deeply."

It's not the first time this year that Tyler has made a frank admission of guilt over past behaviour. In an interview with People.com he revealed the extent of his drug abuse at its peak:

"I blew 20 million. I snorted my Porsche, I snorted my plane, I snorted my house in that din of drugs and booze and being lost." He added, "I kept my medicine cabinet on stage, in a 14-inch drum head, the bottom of which contained . . . one Dixie cup (paper cup) with a straw and blow (cocaine) in it and the other with Coca-Cola and Jack Daniels in it."
