Back in February, the drummer confirmed he will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Guns N’ Roses’ seminal album ‘Appetite For Destruction’ by performing the record in its unadulterated entirety plus other GN’R classics live.

It’s now been announced that 42-year-old Constantine Maroulis, who came sixth on American Idol in 2005 and later starred in the Broadway production of Rock of Ages, will front the collective – now snappily titled Adler’s Appetite featuring Constantine Maroulis.

The band will make their live debut at Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California on Thursday 10th May before embarking on a 10-date Australian tour.

"Of course, Guns N' Roses was the soundtrack to my youth," Maroulis told Billboard. "To play with Steven has been the highlight of my career. He's a lovely guy, and his playing on Appetite was second to none, and that sound he made on it defined that whole generation's sound."

Adler gushed to the US magazine: “Let me just f***ing tell you something... this guy Constantine, who I call 'Casanova'... he came up to New York and I'm like 'oh my God, I got this great rock and roll singer!'

"I'm finally working with a real superstar again… I call him 'Casanova" because he's so goddamn sexy because he dresses so nice. I wish I was his size so I could double my wardrobe!

“He flew up to New York and within five minutes I wanted to kick his f***ing ass! And within 10 minutes I fell in love with him!”

According Maroulis, the band want to prove to Guns N’ Roses what they’re missing out on on their Not In This Lifetime… Tour.

"The crux of (the Adler’s Appetite shows) will be celebrating the Guns N' Roses catalogue with a new take. They're out there playing stadiums, and really Steven should be in the band," he said.

"We're out to prove we sound great and his presence is sorely missed in the big band as well."

Continuing to wax lyrical about Maroulis, Adler added: "Guns N' Roses are the biggest rock band in the f***ing world now, and since the guys don't want me to play with them and I love these songs and I'm so proud of them ... now I finally have a singer who can compete with the young Axl Rose.

"Axl is Axl and Casanova is f***ing Casanova. ... You do the greatest job at being yourself (to Maroulis). That's all I want. Also, his name isn't 'asshole' it's Axl. It sounds like you're saying 'asshole,' but it's Axl."

Guns N’ Roses themselves headline Download Festival on Saturday 9th June 2018. Tickets are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.

Adler, who was part of the ‘classic’ Guns line-up from 1985 to 1990, made four cameo appearances on the Not In This Lifetime… Tour in Cincinnati, Nashville, Los Angeles and Buenos Aires last year guesting on the ‘Appetite For Destruction’ tracks ‘Out ta Get Me’ and ‘My Michelle’.

Last October Adler announced he’s writing a book about things he can’t remember doing called ‘Steven Adler: The S*** My Friends Remember I Did’.
