Steve Van Zandt May Miss Springsteen Shows
He's filming his new TV show in Norway
The E Street guitarist has revealed to Rolling Stone Magazine that his role in Norwegian TV show, Lilyhammer, is looking likely to sideline him from some shows on Bruce Springsteen's forthcoming tour.
"I made commitments before the tour even existed," Van Zandt tells Rolling Stone. "We're still trying to figure it all out, and we won't know for another couple of months. Bruce and manager Jon Landau are very, very understanding about this and very supportive of my TV career. They're gonna try and bend things around as much as they can. And then, if they can't, if I gotta miss a few things, I'll miss a few things. We're gonna try not to, though."
Van Zandt is no stranger to scheduling conflicts, but when he was filming The Sopranos his character had reduced screen time when he was on the road. However, he is the main star of Lilyhammer so it's looking likely that he'll have to duck out of forthcoming dates.
Lilyhammer is the story of an Italian-American gangster who relocates to the Norwegian town of Lillehammer as part of a witness protection programme. BBC4 is due to broadcast the show later this year.
