Steve Vai Announces New Album
The guitar legend will release his latest effort in August
The Story of Light will be available on 14 August, featuring 10 melodic instrumentals and two songs featuring female vocalists (Aimee Mann and Beverley McClellan). The project is the second part of a operatic trilogy, which will include lyrics and narration.
Apparently The Story of Light "follows the journey of a man driven mad by grief, intertwining tragedy, revelation, enlightenment, and redemption.” Part one of the trilogy was the 2005 album ‘Real Illusions: Reflections,’ and part three will come at a later date.
"I’m always pursuing knowledge, I’m a seeker of spiritual equilibrium — and music is a big part of that,” says Vai. "I’ve been obsessed with these kinds of ideas for years.”
