Steve Miller Popular With Birds

His 'Fly Like An Eagle' single is named as best bird song by US magazine

Miller's 1976 hit single topped a reader's chart compiled by Birds & Bloom magazine (the #1 Bird & Garden Magazine in America, if you didn't know) to find the Top Bird Songs.

The Magazine's editors picked The Beatles' Blackbird as their favourite and they said of the poll results "We chose Blackbird because it’s been covered for years by multiple artists. It was also recently featured on the TV show, Glee. It’s a beautiful, classic song from The Beatles, and we love that it features a bird singing throughout. We weren’t surprised at "Fly Like an Eagle,” either. This song has been popular for generations, and after all, it is about our national bird icon—the eagle."

Here's the list of the Top Five Bird Songs:

  1. Fly Like An Eagle - Steve Miller Band
  2. Rockin's Robin - Doris Day
  3. Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
  4. Mockingbird - James Taylor & Carole King
  5. Blackbird - The Beatles
