Steelhouse Festival launches charity T-Shirt raising money for the NHS
A great T-Shirt for a great cause
Last updated 31st May 2020
Steelhouse Festival has launched an official charity T-Shirt for this summer’s postponed event to raise money for the NHS.
Following in the footsteps of Download Festival who raised over £100,000 for the NHS earlier this summer through sales of their T-Shirt, Steelhouse Festival’s charity T-Shirt is available to order from the Welsh international classic rock festival’s official website now.
Costing £25 (plus delivery), the T-Shirt comes in NHS blue and features the Steelhouse Festival logo and dragon on the front along with the slogan ‘Saluting NHS heroes’. The back of the shirt is emblazoned with the words ‘Postponed Not Cancelled’.
The design pays homage to NHS’s incredible frontline staff and key workers and all proceeds from sales will benefit the NHS Royal Gwent Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, which is based in Newport, Gwent – Steelhouse Festival's native county.
Steelhouse Festival organisers Mikey Evans and Max Rhead comment: “The festival has always endeavoured to raise money for local charities through the sales of a specific event shirt. Just because the event itself has been pushed back to next year doesn’t mean a well deserving cause should miss out.
“The Steelhouse faithful (who’ve always snapped up each year’s charity shirt as soon as the gates have opened) were very clear they still wanted a souvenir garment – so thanks to them for making their voices heard. This a golden opportunity to raise funds for the Royal Gwent’s ICU who have been tested to the limit during this crisis, but of course, have never been beaten. This is a Steelhouse ‘thank you’ to the incredible staff who have worked unprecedented hours and performed previously unimaginable tasks.”
They add: “We hope that over, what would have been the 10th anniversary weekend – the 24th-26th of July, those who have purchased the shirt will wear it with pride, share some pictures of themselves in those shirts on our socials and tune into Planet Rock for some Steelhouse-related music and revelry!”
