Steel Panther's Satchel mocks TC Electronic over withdrawn guitar pedal effect
Steel Panther guitarist Satchel has taken a swipe at TC Electronic for removing his guitar pedal effect from sale.
As reported on Wednesday, TC Electronic and Satchel – aka Russ Parish - faced a backlash over their signature ‘Pussy Melter TonePrint’ after Los Angeles based musician Jessica Fennelly launched a petition urging for it to be withdrawn from TC Electronic’s website.
Attracting 978 signatures (at the time of writing), Fennelly said that the marketing behind the product was ‘vulgar’, ‘offensive’ and ‘obviously sexist’.
Raphaelle Standell-Preston from Canadian art-rock band Braids also slammed the effect saying the write up was “disgusting” and added “As a female guitarist and just a female in general this makes me super disappointed.”

TC Electronic relented and removed the TonePrint from sale, writing: "It has never been our intention to offend anyone but simply to provide fans of Steel Panther with guitar presets made by Satchel. We recognize that the material was inappropriate and we have removed the TonePrint in question from the app and we will take it down from our website as soon as possible.”
In response, Satchel wrote on Wednesday: “I’m working overtime with TC Electronics to re-release the “pussy melter” tone print under the less offensive, more politically correct name of the “Butthole Burner”. Don’t worry- it will still melt your pussy, ladies.”
In a fresh dig at the company, Satchel wrote last night: “In the midst of collaborating with TC Electronics to find a less offensive name for the best-selling tone print “Pussy Melter”, we discovered a more appropriate name for their company would be “P.C. Electronics”.”

Steel Panther drummer Stix Zadinia – aka Darren Leader – has also got in on the act and has shared images of a number of existing pedals that could be deemed as offensive by some, including the Way Huge’s Camel Toe Triple Overdrive.
