Abrahamian, who has been guitarist for Starship with Mickey Thomas since 2000, passed away on Sunday after a performance in Norfolk, Nebraska from an apparent heart attack. He was 46.

According to an interview with the Associated Press road manager Scott Harrison said that Abrahamian wasn't feeling well during the after-show dinner and excused himself before collapsing in the next room.

The band issued a statement which said: "We are all shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of our guitar player Mark Abrahamian. Mark was a kind, thoughtful and innovative soul. He was also a friend and family member. Mark also happened to be one hell of a guitar player. We are devastated by the loss of our brother and just dealing with it the best we can."

Starship had been the opening act for Survivor and Boston at the time of Abrahamian's death.
