Springsteen Pays Tribute To Clarence At Surprise Show

The appearance was Springsteen's first public performance since the death of his close friend last month. He played a 45 minute set that consisted largely of covers in front of 400 people at a bar in Asbury Park on Sunday night.

Rolling Stone reports that Springsteen had turned up to watch Clarence's son Nick play with his band at the Wonder Bar venue before taking to the stage at 9pm to play with the headlining act, the Soul Cruisers.

Springsteen and the band stuck to covers like "Ain't Too Proud Too Beg," "Sweet Soul Music," "Shake," "Raise Your Hand" and "Knock On Wood."
