Springsteen Darkness Reissue To Be Bonus Track Heavy
At least ten unheard tracks to feature
Bruce Springsteen’s long awaited reissue (it was due for release early last year) of his Darkness On The Edge Of Town album will feature at least ten unreleased tracks, according to Steve Van Zandt.
The E Street guitarist is quoted by Rolling Stone magazine as saying "We're doing a little bit of fixes on some Darkness on the Edge of Town outtakes, which is going to be a really fun reissue coming for Christmas."
"We put ten or so outtakes on the Tracks box set and we have since found ten more," Van Zandt said. "I'm not sure how many we'll put on there. We'll go back and he might finish a lyric on one or two, or finish a harmony on one or two, but we'll keep them intact pretty much."
It’s not yet known if the reissue will contain concert footage or any making of documentary a la the Born To Run reissue in 2005 which contained no bonus tracks, but did contain a concert film of the Hammersmith Odeon show from 1975 and a comprehensive 90 minute making of film.
Darkness On The Edge Of Town was released in 1978 and is widely regarded as one of Springsteen’s finest moments.
