Soundgarden Eye October Release For New LP
The album will be their first since 1996
The band, who released their first brand new single for fifteen years a few weeks ago, have revealed that the album is looking likely to be released in October.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, frontman Chris Cornell says says Soundgarden's yet-to-be-titled album will be mastered in a week's time so, in his mind, "it's done. It'll be out in probably October. I would say September but I'm just guessing October. We're pretty much done with everything."
'Live To Rise', the band's new single, WILL be on the album but it doesn't represent the sound of the album, says Cornell, who wrote the song specifically for the soundtrack to the new Avengers Assemble film.
Soundgarden play two UK shows this year - one at Download next month and a headline performance at Hard Rock Calling on Friday 13 July in Hyde Park, London.
