Sons of Apollo talk album number two and announce new London show
Progressive metal titans Sons of Apollo have confirmed they’re “talking a lot” about their second studio album.
Following their pulsating 40-minute set on the Planet Rock Main Stage at Ramblin’ Man Fair, drummer Mike Portnoy and guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal spoke to Wyatt backstage where the chat moved on to the band’s plans beyond 2018.
Bumblefoot said: “We’ve been talking a lot about album number two, when we can record it, just talking about the future.”
With Wyatt asking when they can record the follow-up October 2017’s ‘Psychotic Symphony’, Mike responded: “That’s a good question!
“We’re focused right now on this tour... it’s the truth, for me it’s the truth. These guys keep pushing me to kinda like lock down a date for this album and I’m like, ‘I just want to stay in the now.’ But we’ll absolutely get there soon enough.”
You can watch the full chat below where they also spoke about making their drum tech work hard, why Mike doesn't use Britney-style headset mics and making their UK live debut at Ramblin' Man Fair.
As Mike and Bumblefoot confirmed in the interview, Sons of Apollo have added a new London Islington Assembly Hall show to their touring itinerary.
