Sonisphere Hoping For Foos & Chili Peppers In 2012

Organisers reveal headliner wishlist

As this year's UK branch of the Sonisphere festival closes and folks make their way home NME reports that founder Stuart Galbraith is already putting together the line-up for 2012.

Asked if he would consider booking either Foo Fighters or Red Hot Chili Peppers for 2012, he said: "They're both two that we're talking to, amongst a whole list of others. I also think we could have Green Day and Blink-182 here, but none of those are confirmed."

During the press conference for the festival he revealed that next year's bash would be held on the weekend of 6-8 July and that a limited number of tickets would be going on sale on Wednesday at this year's prices.

He also revealed that the capacity would be fixed at 60,000 - even though the site has the capability to hold 125,000.

"Sonisphere at Knebworth is 60,000 capacity and our current intention is that it will stay like that for the foreseeable future, we're not looking for it to become a mega festival. We're not looking to create a 100,000 capacity festival."
