Sonisphere Fills Out Its Comedy Stage

Bill Bailey to play the Saturn Stage at Knebworth

Published 28th Mar 2011

Since its inception three years ago, Sonisphere has always tried to give punters something a little different to the usual rock music festival fare, and one of the ways they have done this is with their selection of comedy acts on the bill.

This year Bill Bailey has been announced as the top billing comedian, and he will play on the Saturn Stage on Sunday night (10 July) before Slipknot close the festival. His eclectic musical based comedy had in the past taken in musical delights ranging from Kraftwerk to an Emo inspired song to his own interpretation of Slayer.

Bailey joins a host of comedians that have been added to the bill, including Jackass star Steve-O (making his UK stand up debut), Jim Breuer, Andrew O’Neill, Bob Slayer, Jason John Whitehead and Jarred Christmas.

Sonisphere takes place at Knebworth House on the weekend of 8-10 July.

It is to be headlined by The Big Four, Biffy Clyro and Slipknot and it will feature performances from the likes of Motorhead, Diamond Head, Weezer, Sisters Of Mercy and Airbourne.
