Slipknot Founder Dies
Bassist Paul Gray found dead at 38
Slipknot bassist Paul Gray has died aged 38.
The band’s founding member was found dead in his hotel room in Des Moines, Iowa yesterday and although police have found no evidence of foul play at the scene there will be an investigation into his death.
Gray was known as #2 or "The Pig” (due to his mask) and was one of the original members of the band when it was founded in 1995 and he appeared on all four of the band’s studio albums.
He was expecting his first child with his wife Brenna.
We don’t play much Slipknot here at Planet Rock but we appreciate the cultural and musical impact that the band have had in the past decade, particularly on the genre of heavy metal, and for that Paul Gray deserves some real respect.
RIP, Paul Gray 1972-2010
