Slash Eyes Alter-native Frontman For Tour

See who will tackle the vocals for Slash\'s solo band

Slash has signed up Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy to provide the vocals on his forthcoming solo tour.

Via his MySpace site Slash revealed that the Alter Bridge will tackle the material from the guest-strewn debut solo album, which is due out in the Spring when the band hit the road in the summer.

"I want to announce that Myles Kennedy is going to be fronting the band for the upcoming tour," Slash wrote on his MySpace blog. "Something I'm really stoked about. Myles sang a killer track on the record & I think he is by far one of the best Rock & Roll singers out there today. I'm really honored & proud to be working with him. I will announce the other band members shortly.”

Myles Kennedy famously auditioned to sing in the band that would have been formed by Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham following Robert Planet’s refusal to reunite Led Zeppelin.

Meanwhile, Slash has revealed via Twitter that he will announce the first dates on the tour in the next week, with Asian and Australian shows confirmed first and then European and South American shows to follow
