Sky Valley Mistress premiere 'Punk Song' on Planet Rock
Blackburn based stoner rockers Sky Valley Mistress have premiered new track 'Punk Song' exclusively on Planet Rock.

Listeners of MOJO Rocks with Phil Alexander and Wyatt’s New Rock Show will already be well acquainted with Sky Valley Mistress’ thunderous recent single ‘Skull and Pistons’, and ‘Punk Song’ is another deliciously heavy gem from the fast-rising, fresh-faced quartet.
Drummer Max Newsome sums it up nicely: “'Punk Song’ is the heaviest of jams. An album’s worth of riffs in six-and-a-half-minutes. Nasa says this song is so dense it changed the earth's orbit when it was written.”

Both ‘Skull and Pistons’ and ‘Punk Song’ are lifted from Sky Valley Mistress’ debut studio album ‘Faithless Rituals’, which is released right here on Friday 20th March via Heavy New Sounds.
‘Faithless Rituals’ was co-produced by stoner rock icon Dave Catching, who has played guitar for Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, earthlings? and many more over the decades.
After Sky Valley Mistress handed Catching some of their recordings at an EODM show, he personally invited them to lay down music at his place in California, the legendary studio at Rancho de la Luna.
Iggy Pop, Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters are among the smorgasbord of artists who have recorded at Rancho de la Luna.
‘Faithless Rituals’ was laid down over 10 days with Hutch (QOTSA’s ex sound man), Bingo (Mojave Lords), Chris Goss (Masters of Reality) and Arctic Monkeys all dropping by during the stay.
Dave Catching provides the spoken intro on the album, which goes: “I just wanna tell you guys a little somethin’ about this record / Somethin’ that you really need to know / I want this to perforate your eardrums, have a fight inside your head and leave a slow burnin’ fire in the darkest part of your mind / That will never let you forget what will be embedded inside you forever.”
Sky Valley Mistress are Kayley “Hell Kitten” Davies (vocals), Sean “Starsky’ Berry (guitar), Russell “Russell” Russell (bass), and Maxwell Harvey William Newsome III (drums/percussion).
