Sixx:AM have recorded four new songs for greatest hits album
Nikki Sixx has revealed that Sixx:AM have recorded four new songs for a greatest hits collection.
The bassist says the compilation album is tied to the upcoming Broadway adaptation of his 2007 memoir The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star.
Sixx:AM’s debut album, ‘The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack’, was of course released as a musical companion to the autobiography 12 years ago.
Nikki told BUILD Series: "I've just done four new songs with Sixx:AM. (The material is) really magical. I think we're gonna go in and record another song as well.
“We have a greatest hits that's gonna tie in to the musical. And if there is time, maybe, for Sixx:AM, we might go out and do — I don't know — a couple of weeks', three weeks' worth of shows, maybe do festivals next year or something."
Blabbermouth reports that the band recorded a music video for a new song back in December.
Alongside reconvening with Sixx: AM, Nikki Sixx also recently laid down four new songs with Mötley Crüe for the soundtrack to their upcoming movie The Dirt.
The three original the Mötley Crüe compositions are called ‘Ride With The Devil’, ‘Crash & Burn’ and ‘The Dirt (Est. 1981)’, plus they have also covered Madonna’s 1984 song ‘Like A Virgin’.
Based on Mötley Crüe’s infamous 2001 collaborative autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band, The Dirt is available to watch on Netflix from Friday 22nd March.
