Shinedown frontman Brent Smith has confirmed that the band will make an announcement for UK fans “pretty soon”, and they also have grand plans to play all seven continents in 2026.

To celebrate the release of Shinedown’s two new singles ‘Three Six Five’ and ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’ today (24th January), the ever-genial Brent Smith caught up with Planet Rock’s Loz Guest for a wide-ranging chat.

Alongside releasing the two fresh tracks, Shinedown have announced a colossal North American arena tour that takes place from April to August this year.

While talking about performing live, Brent exclusively revealed that Shinedown are hoping to follow in Metallica’s footsteps and become only the second band ever to perform on all seven continents.

Having previously played shows in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America, Metallica famously performed a 10-song Freeze ‘Em All concert inside a dome on Antarctica in December 2013 to achieve their Guinness World Record feat.

Brent told Loz: “I’ll give what I consider an exclusive because a lot of people have been asking - and they've been asking for a number of years now - where they've said, ‘are you ever going to do anything internationally?’ And the answer to that is, ‘yes!’

“I'm not going to be the guy that's on here talking about the quote-on-quote financial aspect of things. Look, we all know it's expensive to tour abroad, but what I will tell you is what the band is really focusing on and we're really, really putting a lot of effort into this, next year in 2026 our goal is to play all seven continents. That’s the goal.

“I think that you're gonna hear international announcements (from Shinedown) this year. You gotta remember, we're just in January. I don't want to jinx anything, but we're really actively working on this because we want to make it worth it for all the fans that have waited on us in these other territories, in these other countries, to really give them our absolute best and the best show that we can for them. But it takes a lot of work just kind of figuring out the logistics of that.”

Returning to the subject later on in the chat, Brent confirmed they’ve also got UK activity planned, which will be announced imminently.

“For 2026 the goal is to do all seven continents,” Brent said. “And just so everybody knows in the UK, we got an announcement for you pretty soon that I think you'll be very happy about. That's all I can tell you.”

Pushed for further information from Loz, Brent responded: “I will tell you it's not small. I'll tell you that.”

When asked by Loz if there’s a chance he might get to see him in real life in 2025, Brent replied emphatically: “1000%”

We’ll wait for the announcement with bated breath!

Shinedown’s new singles ‘Three Six Five’ and ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’ are out now via Atlantic Records.
