Sharon Osbourne: Ozzy 'can't wait' to return to the road
Ozzy Osbourne's wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, has spoken about the second postponement of his UK and European tour.
Ozzy told fans on Wednesday evening that he’s “not ready” for the rescheduled tour, which was due to kick off in Nottingham in January 2020, as his recovery from a bad fall and subsequent surgery is “taking a little bit longer than everyone thought it would.”
Appearing on US chat show The Talk on Thursday lunchtime, Sharon addressed the video message Ozzy shared and said he “can't wait to get the okay from the doctor” to return to touring.
After the video was played to viewers, Sharon commented: “How cute is he?! He does (look good).
“We were watching something the other day of a band that was on the road. It was a documentary… I don't even know who the band was… and it showed them all travelling on the tour bus. And he said, 'Turn it off. I can't watch it.' He had tears in his eyes, and he's, like, 'I miss my life so much.'
“And he just can't wait to get the okay from the doctor to let him go. He just wants to go out and fly. That's what he does.”
It’s yet to be announced when Ozzy’s UK and Ireland tour will be rescheduled for. Live Nation Sweden, however, have noted the Stockholm Friends Arena gig will now happen “in the first half of 2021.”
The next North American leg of Ozzy’s No More Tours 2 semi-farewell trek is still going ahead as planned and kicks off at Atlanta State Farm Arena on 27th May 2020.
In response to the second European tour postponement, Judas Priest yesterday thanked fans for their enduring “rock solid support”.
They wrote: “We are very grateful for the rock solid support from our wonderful UK & European fans as Ozzy gets well and strong - the UK/European tour will showcase the very best British Metal from the ones that started it all and we proudly look forward to celebrating our 50 Heavy Metal Years together with you!”
