Saxon's Biff Byford celebrates Valentine's Day with new single 'Me and You'
Saxon frontman Biff Byford is celebrating Valentine’s Day today by premiering his heartfelt new single ‘Me and You’.
Far removed from the thunderous sounds of Biff Byford’s day job in Saxon, ‘Me and You’ is a loved-up ode to Biff’s wife and is packed with tender lyrics.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” says Biff. “I wrote this song for my wife and our 25th anniversary but I think it can be for anybody who’s in a relationship.
“We all have anniversaries and memories, not my usual style of song but it’s always good to throw in a curve ball!”

Following in the footsteps of the Planet Rock playlisted lead single ‘Welcome To The Show’, ‘Me and You’ is lifted from Biff Byford's debut solo album ‘School of Hard Knocks’, which is released next Friday (21st February) via Silver Lining Music.
Boasting 11 tracks, ‘School of Hard Knocks’ was self-produced, and it features a solo band consisting of Fredrik Åkesson (Opeth) on guitars, Christian Lundqvist on drums and Gus Macricostas on bass, with Biff himself playing additional bass too.
‘School of Hard Knocks’ also features guest appearances from Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell, Alex Holzwart (Rhapsody of Fire), Nick Barker (Voices), Dave Kemp (Wayward Sons) and Biff’s Saxon band mate Nibbs Carter.
The album was recorded by Jacky Lehmann at Brighton Electric Studios in Brighton (UK) and mixed at Queen Street Studios in Stockholm (Sweden) by Mats Valentin.
In support of ‘School of Hard Knocks’, Biff Byford plays a 10-date UK tour in April. Each show will take an “evening with” format and will be split into two halves.
Biff says: “The show will consist of some old songs, some new songs, some cover versions and some songs off the solo album.
“It’s going to be great and I am really looking forward to it. It’s going to something a little bit different, but it will be very cool, so I’ll see you all there!”
