The Yorkshire metal titans have announced today (20th September) that Biff has unfortunately been diagnosed with a heart condition that requires immediate surgery. Due to the nature of the operation, Biff’s post-op recovery period will last into 2020.

Next month’s 40th Anniversary Castles & Eagles Tour dates at London Eventim Apollo (Saturday 19th October) and Manchester O2 Apollo (Sunday 20th October) have been rescheduled for Saturday March 28th 2020 and Sunday 29th March 2020 respectively.

Saxon’s biggest ever Scottish show at Glasgow Braehead Arena with Black Star Riders on Thursday 18th October will be rescheduled for an as-yet-unconfirmed date, alongside their Saturday 26th October show at Dusseldorf Mitsubishi Electric Halle.

Next week’s concert at Stockholm Grona Lund will now take place next summer, with the exact date due to be confirmed.

All existing tickets will be honoured at the new dates. Should fans no longer be able to attend, then refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Unfortunately, Saxon’s planned appearances at festivals in The Netherlands, Mexico, and Colombia will understandably no longer be happening.

Biff Byford comments: “As everyone knows now we are going to have to reschedule some of the shows because I need an operation on my heart which should be happening next week.

“There is nothing more I can say really, I am just sorry for causing all the disappointment to peoples plans for coming to see us. I know people are flying from all over the world to see the shows but there is nothing I can do so please wish me luck and send me some good vibes.  We have to look positive on this and I will coming back as strong as before hopefully.”
