Saxon Announce Rescheduled Live Dates

NWOBHM legends Saxon have announced the re-scheduled dates for their postponed UK shows.

Published 12th Jan 2015

The dates, which were originally planned for December 2014, were postponed due to Nigel Glocker’s sudden health problems.

The drummer is now back at home recoering after two surgical procedures, which he underwent following a brain aneurysm,

While Glocker is reportedly on the mend, he won't be performing at the new dates and will be replaced by Sven Dirkschneider, the son of Udo Dirkschneider (Accept). He will join frontman Biff Byford, Paul Quinn (guitar), Doug Scarratt (guitar) and Nibbs Carter (bass) for the run.

Biff Byford said: “It’s great to see Nige on the mend, he will get the chance to see the band from out front for a change.”

Nigel recently posted the below video message on the band’s Facebook page thanking fans for their support and updating them on his health situation:

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)0; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
