The supergroup, which consists of titular vocalist Hagar alongside his ex-Van Halen band mate Michael Anthony (bass), drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnson, have premiered the lyric video for the song ‘Trust Fund Baby’ as a tantalising taster for the album.

The songs sees Sammy Hagar & The Circle take a swipe at a hard-partying woman flittering her money away, with lyrics like: “Momma’s on a fast train / Running on cocaine / Money’s on a slow drain / Oh lord” and “Pounding down straight shots/Stomach tied up in knots/The girl gets what she wants/Trust fund baby.”

Sammy Hagar & The Circle will unveil further information on ‘Space Between’ and announce a sprawling North American tour next Monday (4th September).

The band released the live album ‘At Your Service’ in May 2015, which featured covers of songs by their respective other bands; Montrose, Van Halen, Sammy Hagar and The Waboritas, and Led Zeppelin.

Explaining the ethos of The Circle shortly after their formation in 2014, Sammy Hagar told Rolling Stone: “We call ourselves the Circle because this band has kinda taken me full circle in my career.

“I can play from every era, from Montrose to Van Halen to solo, Chickenfoot and some Led Zeppelin. In Chickenfoot, we didn’t play songs by the Chili Peppers or Van Halen, but the Circle plays my whole world and everyone else’s world that’s in the band. It’s been really special so far.”
