Sabbath Hit Number one... In T shirt sales
Black Sabbath’s 1978 US tour T shirt is the best selling classic rock shirt of 2012.
New figures published by HMV show that sales of the top surged when it was worn by Robert Downey Jr in the hit movie ‘Avengers Assemble’.
According to the Independent, HMV’s Genaro Castaldo said, "More often than not, rock T-shirts used to be something you'd wear to gigs to see your favourite bands, but over time demand has broadened and they've since become a bit of a fashion-statement in their own right. Some performers can quickly come and go with the trends, but one genre that has an enduring appeal and seems to remain eternally popular with fans is classic rock and metal."
Led Zeppelin’s US Tour 1977 shirt was the second biggest seller in the classic rock category, with their ‘Celebration Day’ tee coming in at number three.
