Rush's 2112 Finds Its Way To Guitar Hero

Prog classic featured on latest instalment of video game

The new instalment of ever popular computer game series Guitar Hero will feature the whole of Rush’s 2112 suite (all 20+ minutes).

Rolling Stone has a video interview with the band that features a little gameplay footage showing someone rocking the seven part prog-epic.

Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock is the sixth full Guitar Hero game and it features tracks by the likes of Jethro Tull, Kiss, Soundgarden, Queen, Sabbath, the Stones and Slash. Gene Simmons narrates the "quest mode”.

The game is a marked difference from other Guitar Hero titles as it features a "fantasy” story mode, rather than just moving song to song. It will be released in the UK at the end of September.

"In our story, the caves of 2112 are where our hero finds the lost guitar," says Rush’s Geddy Lee of the game. "This rediscovery of music is much like the 'Guitar Hero' warriors' journey to find the Demi-God of Rock's legendary guitar, which has been trapped in a cavern.”
