The remastered version of ‘A Farewell to Kings’ is lifted from the 40th anniversary edition of Rush’s album of the same name, which was released on Friday 1st December 2017.

The lyric video was created by Adam Jones of ALJ Innovations and features original artwork by Hugh Syme and illustration by Fantoons. Watch it here:

Originally released in September 1977, ‘A Farwell to Kings’ was recorded at the world-famous Rockfield Studios in Wales and spawned classic tracks including ‘Closer To The Heart’, ‘Madrigal’, ‘Cinderella Man’, ‘Xanadu’ and ‘Cygnus X-1.’

The 40th anniversary edition is available to buy on four different formats; Super Deluxe Edition, three-CD Deluxe Edition, four-LP Deluxe Edition, and the Deluxe Digital Edition.

Back in January, Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson confirmed that the Canadian trio are ‘basically done’ in a blog post for the Globe and Mail.

He wrote: “It's been a little over two years since Rush last toured. We have no plans to tour or record any more. We're basically done. After 41 years, we felt it was enough.”

Elsewhere in his post, Alex confirmed that he’s “busier lately than I have been in a while” and is involved in a number of projects.

“I'm writing a lot. I'm writing on four or five different little projects,” Alex wrote. “I get these requests to do guitar work with other people. It's really a lot of fun for me. It's low pressure: I get to be as creative as I want to be and I can work a little outside of the box, which is really attractive to me.”

Alex’s other ventures include writing a monthly column for the West End Phoenix newspaper and taking on a small part in a TV show called Crawford.
