Rush Doc Wins Film Fest Award
Beyond The Lighted Stage picks up Tribeca Film Fest award
The brand new Rush film, Beyond The Lighted Stage, has won an award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
The movie, which made its worldwide premier at the festival last week, picked up the 2010 Heineken Audience Award and bagged the filmmakers a cheque for $25,000.
"The best documentary films are just great stories with characters who jump off the screen, and that is certainly the case with 'Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage,'" said TFF executive director Nancy Schafer.
"Receiving the Heineken Audience Award at Tribeca means a lot to us as Rush has always been a band of the people," said directors McFadyen and Dunn. "It was great to see Rush fans and non-fans enjoy the movie together."
The film is due to open in this country in a couple of months. We’ll keep you posted as and when details are announced.
