In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones, Japanese distiller Suntory Liquors will release a special limited edition of its blended whisky. The run will include only 150 bottles.

The malts which will form the beverage have been carefully selected, having been distilled and casked at milestone points in the band’s 50 year history.

This includes a malt from the year the Stones were formed, which has been long-aged in mizunara casks of Japanese oak. The taste is rich with a slight bitterness, which expands in the mouth into a velvety smoothness. The aftertaste is one of pleasant woodiness, similar to the finest aloeswood, and resonates with a soft smokiness.

The crystal bottle is designed around the band’s iconic lips and tongue logo, and is housed in velvet box which is modeled after a black sofa.

The Stones will release their greatest hits album, "GRRR”, on November 12.
