Roger Waters Regrets Floyd Dispute
The bassist says that he was wrong to be angry at his former band
When asked by DJ Howard Stern in a new interview about parting ways with David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and the late Rick Wright in the mid-'80s, he explained: "It was character forming."
When Stern pressed him and asked if the band was wrong to regroup and perform Floyd material on the road without him, Waters - who battled Gilmour and Mason in court over the group's name - admitted: "No I don't think so. I think I was wrong to think they were wrong."
He also revealed that the band have no plans to do anything in the near future.
"I don't think David is interested in doing anything," Waters said. "It's not acrimony that prevents us from getting together and doing it. As you rightly pointed out, we've got some cash, we don't have to do it. And so it's like, 'Is this what you really want to spend your time doing?' And the answer certainly from my point of view is no."
In the interview Waters also revealed that he got married for the fourth time last week.
"I need to bring you up to date because I just got married on Saturday to Laurie, she's gorgeous," Waters revealed. "Yeah, I couldn't be happier. We did the pre-nup. We've been living together for 10 years, I think we sort of know now that we like getting up together in the morning and going to bed at night."
