Rod Stewart Rocks Again
Singer completes new rock record
Although he has been content to do covers and explore the Great American Songbook for almost a decade, Rod Stewart has returned to his rock roots and has completed an album of original material, penning eleven tracks himself. This is Stewart's first album of new music since 2001's "Human" and a return to songwriting for the artist.Â
"I produced it myself. It's all finished, mixed, everything" Stewart told Billboard, describing the upcoming release as "a good, old fashioned Rod Stewart album" but admitting that the themes were "a little more adult now; there's no 'Hot Legs' or 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy.' But they're, I think, songs people can relate to."
Stewart has just published his book "Rod: The Autobiography" and will release his holiday offering "Merry Christmas, Baby" on October 30.Â
